First&Last

Yesterday was my first day at work & my last time to play volleyball at our home gym. 

Work was fun! I woke up really early because I was a little excited. lol I wasn't sure how long it would take me to get ready but it ended up taking exactly an hour...so I left and had time to get some breakfast. I got to help open all of the store's new stuff and put it out on the floor. I learned lots and the people I worked with were fun and easy to get along with. I'm now on the logistics team. Tomorrow I have more training for the sales associate job. 

Sophomore night was alright...We played a sucky team so it was hard for everyone to get excited, so I'll admit it was boring for us and those watching...but it was our last time to play there together and we were trying to have fun. I thought I was going to get emotional when it was over, but I don't think it has hit me that it is coming to an end yet..It will at state, I'm sure. After our game we all got to eat together with our families. We had a catered dinner that was sooo yummy. It was home cooked stuff like chicken fingers, potatoes, macncheese, rolls, sweet tea, and some banana pudding. :)

 I'm not totally sure if its the actual sport I'll miss. I'm pretty sure it's the girls on my team this year. We have become ridiculously close these past months and I'm gonna miss not seeing them everyday. 

Today we have our last practice in our gym and then tomorrow we are headed out to a town two hours away for a few days to bring our season to an end. We have a scheduled practice time tomorrow night at 8, so I'm sure we will check into our hotel and grab something to eat and just try to enjoy our last few days together... 

HAPPY BDAY 2 ME!

Happy Birthday to me :D I'm finally outta the teens! 

I already had such a great bday weekend...It started Friday morning. I had practice at 5:30 and afterwards I came home and went back to sleep. When I woke up..(we won't talk about how late it was) I saw a little sticky note on the inside of my door. It said "check the fridge, Gran made you a surprise :) " So I went down stairs and inside our fridge was a gift bag and a dr pepper...My favorite. We don't keep them at the house, so I was excited about this...lol Inside the bag was a really cute card with some money pinned to it and two king size candy bars. I called Drew and he told me to get ready cuz we were going out. :) So I got ready and we went out to eat and shopped a little. The next morning I went to my scheduled hair appointment. See hair other there. 
As I was leaving and got out my wallet to pay, I was told it had already been taking care of and that there was also an envelope there for me. It was from Drew. It was a gift certificate for a mani&pedi. He is so cute. :) So after my appointment we headed to Bham to meet my parents at Outback. My dad gave me a giftcard to ae...which I spent today. Got lots of cute stuff. Pics? ok. :) This is what I got:

Tornadoes&Jobs

Sirens have been the soundtrack for today. I have heard them at least 5 times since about 2pm. Our Sophomore night was canceled and rescheduled for next week. I also had my first day of a day two orientation for work today. Volleyball seems to be in the way of getting the second and final day done. Both of the times they have day 2 scheduled I will have volleyball. I'm not sure what I will do, but I'm sure it will all work out. All of the people I had orientation with seem cool and it looks like it is going to be really fun to be there. Everything is so laid back. I mean yes there are rules and stuff but everyone gets everything done and still has fun and makes it possible to enjoy working there. I learned some very interesting facts about Gap.Inc today. I'm sure no one is interested so I won't go into details. lol The thing that caught my attention was the fact that we get FIFTY..yes 50 percent off at Gap. Maybe I'll still be working there when we decide to have kids as a little part time job and I can get cute baby and maternity clothes for half off...even the clearance items! :) Drew had his first day of work today and he is going to love it. I know he likes having something to do outside of me and him. I agree. I'm gonna love having something to do for and by myself. We also have made out our spring schedule and add in our new jobs to save some extra money for when we move and we are very excited about the spring semester. :) Well I'm gonna go eat a muffin pie that Drew made. YUM :) It's almost have way through the week! 

Sunshine

No, this isn't the new makeover I was talking about. This is just the results of me playing around and seeing what  I knew about html. The one I'm having made is WAY cooler. :)

We have our last away game tonight. Can you believe that??? The LAST away game...wow. It has flown by. 

I'm still waiting for Old Navy to call and tell me when I start my training. I've heard they have hired 5 more people and are waiting so we can all train together...

Drew starts his new job tomorrow. I know is excited. :)

I'm not in a very bright mood today. The weather is all rainy and I'm just feeling a little sick. I hope it's sunny where ever you are! :) (unless you like the rain)

Fall Fashion

I though I would do a little something different and do a post on something I rarely talk about. Clothes. The past year I have lived in workout clothes and now that my athletic career is ending a short 2 weeks...I DO love clothes...I am just too lazy to put anything together. That's gonna change though. I'm actually going to put some effort into my appearance. I'm sure my boss oh and Drew will appreciate it. :) lol Here are some of my favorite looks I am going to throw together for this fall. I have that blazer being shipped to me as we speak. :)

L.O.V.E headbands right now. I'm contemplating getting my bangs cut shorter and darkened. It will hopefully look somewhat like this:

I'm really sorry I haven't been posting lately...(not than anyone reads this thing but me and maybe melissa..I have ONE follower. Shout out to her! :).lol) I just sent in my order for a new blog make over. I cannot wait until it is done. I want to go ahead and thank this lady in advance because I am probably one big pain in her butt. I couldn't just be simple...I had to make it a complicated order. lol Well let's see...what's goin on in our life right now?? Well, I have a volleyball match at home tonight. Easy one. They are just about equal to a middle school team. I know that's mean, but it's the truth. I have practice early in the morning, which I'm already dreading. :( Off Friday though so that's good! I am supposed to hear from Old Navy sometime from now until Sat to find out when I start my j.o.b. :) hehe. My sister's Christmas gift came in the mail today :) She picked it out and didn't even know it. Sneaky sneaky. Drew ALSO got a job at hibbetts as ASSISTANT MANAGER. :) He's never done anything like that before. He just has that good of social skills and personality. I'm glad one of us has good social skills, because I, on the other hand, lack in that area. Working on it though! Well there's a little catch up for ya.

Big News! :)

I GOT THE JOB!!! 

Well actually, I got two jobs! Logistics and sales associate! :) I'm beyond happy!! Now I have a home match tonight to focus on! 

God is AMAZING. 

*edited to add: We won our  home game...which makes us 2nd in the conference. :) Off to play in GA bright and early in the a.m.

A few days behind. :/ Sorry!

I have been busy with volleyball and sleeping. Oh and eating, can't forget that one. There are 22 days left of the season. We only have 4 away matches and 2 (maybe three...they made a lot of changes to our schedule) home games left. We play tomorrow at home, which will be a pretty good match considering they beat us when we played them at their place. Their fans were extremely rude and nasty. I won't even repeat the things they said on my blog..Then next week we have another pretty good team to play that's really far off...yay. SOO excited to ride the bus for hours...NOT. Then the NEXT week we play an away game on Monday and then Tuesday is our Sophomore night! :) That will also be the 10daysleft mark. State is November 5&6. 

Drew and I went on a date last night after my practice. We drove through Pruetts (a YUMMY bbq place in town....where I get their chicken fingers. They cause mouthgasms. lol) and then we went and saw Social Network. It was a good movie.. Pretty neat because I'm pretty sure it is the real story of facebook. After the movie we went to my friend, Mikal's house. She works at Old Navy and is trying to help get me hired. She helped me apply there and at Gap. I'm really praying I get called for an interview.. I really want a job. After volleyball I will have nothing but school so I can work a lot and earn money for our move. 

Oh! Another reason I'm ready for vb to be over is because I finally get to start the hcg drops. I will definitely post everyday about my progress with before and after pics MAYBE. lol I want to start now, but I wouldn't have any energy for volleyball. My feet will also receive some loving..they deserve a pedi BIG TIME. 

Correction! Just got called for an interview!!! :)

Sunday Review

Tonight's practice s u c k e d. First of all, remember the little bit of drama I mentioned a few posts back? Well "L" didn't come to practice...and the girl who told coach "L" had lied was like 10 minutes late..and on time is late in vb world...we always get there 30 minutes early. I didn't know how I should act towards her or anything...seeing as how she had tried to say it was ME that had ratted "L" out....I didn't really have to worry about that. Since the moment she arrive she was ticked off at something/someone. She was so rude to the coach and you could clearly tell she didn't want to be there...The coach sensed something was up, and said something about it, and we all had no clue what was wrong. All she said was "I take everything personally". What did she mean by that? Not sure. My bet is "L" said something to her about telling coach she had lied and so now "T" thought the coach had told "L" it was her that had snitched. IDK. Frankly, i.don't.care. I'm over it. Done. Sick of all the drama. Besides the fact that we had some attitudes tonight, we had to run. A LOT. We also had two conditioning drills before we could go home. I left feeling light headed and my face was burning. All I have to say is I'm glad we are off tomorrow. 

After practice I went to my gran's where  Drew and my gran were cooking us dinner. We ate and talked and then Drew and I headed  home to the gas station and got a yoohoo some nerds for him (again, he has a weird obsession with those things) and I got some twizzlers and a HUGE dr. pepper. Feels good to a sore throat. :) THEN we headed home and watched some family guy...we LOVE that show. Its soooo stupid and hilarious at the same time. His old-fart-self went to bed pretty early and I stayed up and got a really nice, long, hot shower and have been reading blogs ever since. I wish I could be half as good of a writer/blogger as tons of the women I have been following. I find new and awesome blogs everyday. I feel like my blog won't be interesting until we move and then start having kids....(the kids part is very far off mind you) For now I guess my posts will just have to be boring until the fun stuff starts happening. The first "fun stuff" I'm thinking will be Christmas when we get some stuff for our first apartment..which btw we went apartment hunting yesterday and found some that we just love! I can't wait to see where we actually end up. I also have applied at many different places. I hope SOMEWHERE calls me soon. I don't seem to be lucky when it comes to getting called after online applying. 

Another HUGE thing I have been stressing over lately is what to do next year. Do I go to school, even though I have NO clue what I want to major in still? Do I take a little time off and work and earn some extra money and THEN go back to school??? UUUGGGHHH. Now is the time when I need my ex step mom. She would know what I should do. Then again, this is one of those big decisions I have to make in life I'm guessing. I'm going to continue to pray about it and hopefully I will receive an answer. I know what I WANT to do, but I don't know if it's what's best.

Saturday Review

We woke up late and decided to head to bham for the day. We went and toured a few apartments and fell in love with one of them. :) I'm excited and I can really see us living there. Afterwards we ate some yummy calzones at mellow mushroom and went and saw "Life As We Know It". It's good. You should see it. :) Tomorrow is gonna be a typical Sunday for us. We don't like any of the churches around here, so we usually just sleep in and then get stuff done that we've put off all week. lol I am sooo ready to move to bham. Another great reason-Church of the Highlands. AMAZING church. Well I'm about to pass out...so night!

Drama Stresses Me Out

Weeeellll, that was more of a waste of time then the Selma trip. It wasn't really their fault I guess. This was their first year to have a volleyball team. I heard our coach explaining one of the simplest parts of the game to their coach before we played. It was so hard to keep our minds focused on the game..it felt like a joke. Not to mention the fact that we had on pink jerseys. Our coach was less than happy with our stupid errors...but I mean come on, they were doing some crazy spaz moves and the ball would come flying over and catch us off guard...We won needless to say. Before the third game coach even made us a deal that if we kept them under 5 we wouldn't have practice in the morning. We obviously didn't want practice. The final score of game three= 25-4. After the match we headed home and stopped to eat. Then the drama started. I hate drama...I like being an outsider looking in on drama..but I hate hate hate being involved in anyway. Stresses this girl out BigTime. So here's the story. One of my teammates (we'll call her L) has a "thing" to go to Sunday night...so when coach asks us if we would rather practice Sunday evening or Monday morning, it was half and half, so coach just picks Sunday. Well we all get to talking and decide Monday would be best...so of course, I'm the one who asks if we can practice Monday instead. She says she will talk to the assistant coach and let us know. Still following? good.  We get to the restaurant to eat and L tells coach that she is "going to Nashville" to see her brother this weekend & didn't know if she would be back on time on Sunday, so it would work out great if we could just practice Monday morning....well SOMEONE told coach that L lied to her and that she was really going to a concert. Who does coach text and ask about it? ME. So for a few minutes i act like I haven't seen the text yet and panic trying to figure out what to say. I finally just tell her idk what's going on. Why, oh why did she just drag me into it??? Well some more stuff is asked and said and coach ends up confronting L when we got home. L IS going to Nashville now so that she wasn't lying, but she is coming home in time to go to her "thing" she is doing Sunday night. UUUGHH. It turns out we weren't going to be practicing Sunday anyway if she would have just waited then coach would have told us that and there wouldn't have been any reason to lie. I HATE crap like this. Sorry for my little rant. Just had to tell the story. 

ANYWAY on to other things...I NEED a pedicure. It's not a matter of wanting it anymore. My feet look terrible. I think I might whip out my foot spa thing I got for Christmas last year and try to give myself one tomorrow. Something needs to be done. Speaking of things that need to get done...my school work. I need to catch up/get ahead. Been a bit of a slacker lately. I hope I feel good tomorrow. It needs to be a productive day...(after I sleep till 11ish and run get my daily chicfila of course.) OH! Tomorrow is Friday! Yay! That means I need to think of something fun for me and Drew to do. We have He has had a busy week. I need to do something really sweet. I'll see what I can come up with :) Have a lovely weekend everyone! 

Just Another Day

We have another match today. This one is in Georgia...so not looking forward to this bus ride. We are wearing our pink jerseys for Breast Cancer Awareness month. I love it, it fits really well. We haven't heard much about this team, but from what we have heard, they aren't that great.

We are sooooo sooooo soooo ready for May/June to be here. We want to move really bad and are just itching to start looking for jobs and a place to live in Bham. Time is flying by, but I wish we could just fast forward a few months. 

 

Short & to the Point

So yeah..we lost again to Wallace last night. It was a home game and the gym was packed. We didn't play terrible...we even came out on top the last game and embarrassed them a little..but of course our stupid mistakes started adding up and they came back and won....We still have one more chance at state...and we are gonna bring it. We only have 6 games (I think) until the state tournament. It has FLOWN by.

Weekend Recap

I've already missed a few days of the whole "blogging every day this month" thing....so I guess it will just have to run over into Nov. Speaking of November, the 1st is my BDAY! :D

A little weekend recap:
The team loaded the charter bus around 1pm on Friday...we all got comfy with our pillows and blankets and watched The Blind Side movie until we stopped to eat at a little hole in the wall buffet. It was really good. The only thing they were missing was chicken. They didn't have it in any form...so my meal didn't feel complete. I ate some yummy mac-n-cheese, a few bites of meatloaf, some yeast rolls, and a salad with sweet tea...all followed by buttermilk coconut pie. :) After we ate we watched the first half of New Moon while we road to the hotel. The hotel was extremely nice. We only had time to unload some of our stuff and change for our games. We headed straight to the gym for our two games. We won the first, lost the second....afterwards we all went to a REALLY yummy Italian place. I don't remember the name, but I ordered chicken Parmesan and it was delicious. When we were all stuffed and just about falling asleep, we headed back to the hotel for showers and some sleep, because the next morning we had to meet earlyish, eat, and get back to the gym for THREE more matches. We won the first one and then took a quick lunch run to a place called Sweet Peppers. I had been there before with my high school team and was excited to get to go back. It was a deli-type place, which I love...I ordered a club with chips and sweet tea. After we quickly ate, we went back and watched the rest of the match  that was going on and then played another game. We lost...and by this point everyone was just tired, sweaty, ill, and ready to go home...but we still had to play one more game. It was a decent team, but we had beat them once before, so we knew we would win. The first game was pretty close, but we ending up winning and then picked it up for the second two so we could get out of there and get on the road. On the way home we watched National Treasure. We started it as soon as we got on the bus and the ending credits started playing the second we pulled into our parking lot...We were amazing/shocked at how fast we got home, but we were so thankful...everyone cheered and high-fived our bus driver, Jack for getting us home so quickly. I got in my car, drove home, and when I got to my room, it was spotless. Drew had been a sweety, despite being sickly, and cleaned it for me. :) It was nice to come home to a clean room. I got a quick shower and climbed into my comfy bed and was OUT...for 12 hours...and I still woke up tired. We have been laying around watching movies all day. Tomorrow it's back to the gym, tanning, and school work. WOO. Oh and I'm applying for a job. Wish me luck...I just want a schedule going in my life and a little extra cash wouldn't hurt either.

Everything about October makes me happy. It may possibly be one of my favorite months. :)

VolleyBall.

Well the vb team is off to play Selma tonight....a waste of three hours there and another three back..oh yeah and throw in another thirty minutes or so for the match I guess..lol At least we will be on the charter bus and get to watch Dear John and The Book of Eli and then get fed after. :) :) :)

Tomorrow we leave at one to go to Huntsville for a tournament. We play some crappy team and then another better team on Friday and then we are staying the night. Saturday we have three pretty good teams to play. LOTS of vb for me this weekend. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! :)

***Edit: We won last night. It was such a waste of a night. :( Now we're leaving at one today. I was woken up twice this morning and can't go back to sleep. :/ Great.

1. I HATE wearing shoes and so I don't whenever possible.

2. I want 3 or 4 muchkins someday :)

3. I want to work in the medical field...just not sure which part yet...and once I have kids I would LOVE LOVE to just be a mommy.

4. Math is my favorite subject. It's fun!

5. Bad grammar is possibly my biggest pet peeve.

6. If there is a $.25/$.50 bouncy ball machine where I'm at, I HAVE to get one. Most recent was last night at taco bell. lol

7. I have to sleep with a noise maker. I get creeped out by random noises at night.

8. I cannot, no matter how hard I try, keep my room clean. I clean it every Sunday and by like Monday it's a mess again. I WILL keep our apartment clean though. Yes sir.

9. I could eat Chic-fil-a everyday for lunch AND dinner...(if you read my blog previously you probably have caught on to this one)

10. I want an Alaskan Huskie. They are beautiful.

11. I am the third shortest girl on my volleyball team, but have the fourth highest vertical. That's right, I'm a beast. lol JK

12. I like dark colors better than light or bright colors.

13. I'm a scorpio...and yes, I like reading into that sorta thing. It's freaky weird how right descriptions of astrology signs are..

14. I've had nose surgery to fix my breathing problems, now I would like to have one more surgery to fix the appearance.

15. I have 1 tattoo. It is on my wrist and it's the serenity prayer in Latin. For those of you who don't know/can't think of what this is at the moment: "God grant me the serenity to accept things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference"...and it won't be my last tattoo. :)

16. Drew's blue eyes make me melt. :)

17. I have only dried my hair about maybe 5 times total since it got warm this year. It takes FOREVER.

18. I am obsessed with Eminem's new cd right now.

19. I get to sleep untill 10-11 everyday this semester.

20. I think I am an older soul in a young body. I do not think like most people my age.

21. Black is my favorite color to wear.

22. There are 13 computers in my house. They all work and are used.

24. Drew and I have decided to not have a tv in our bedroom when we move.

Weekend Hungry

• A little update on volleyball, since it consumes A LOT of my time right now...Our record is now 15-4. Our team has grown really close and I know big things are ahead of us. Even though our losses have been pretty bad ones, I'm proud of my team. 

• I chose to drop my online Lit class. I just could not make myself do all of that reading. I decided it would be better to take it in person in the spring with Drew. We are going to have Bio and Drawing together too. I'm pretty excited. We are going to try to get afternoon classes. Less people...esp ones we know. We are SO ready to get out of this town. 

• I am soooo looking forward to Saturday...and here's why...it will involve:

We got tickets to see the Legally Blonde musical in Bham. We have to go to a concert/musical for a big part of our music class grade and I got tickets to this show as soon as I heard about it. Drew and I have never been to anything like this together. It's going to be so much fun. We have AMAZING seats. Dead center, midway up the bottom section. :)

Saturday will also involve a little shopping for us and Christmas gifts and apartment hunting. :D Saturday is gonna be a fun day! 

• I applied for two jobs this past week. Cross your fingers I get called! 

• I went to see Easy A with my younger sis last night. She had seen it before and wanted to see it again and I have been wanting to see it. It was a good movie. It is the perfect example of how rumors are in high school. We have all been there. If you watch it, I bet you will catch yourself saying, yep, I remember how that was. I love Emma Stone (the main character) Her facial expressions are hilarious. 

• We have a home match tonight. Wish us luck. Everyone is probably worn out from practice last night. Running suicides and sprints the night before a game was GENIUS....not. I hope everyone got well rested last night and is ready to play...or next practice will just be a repeat of last night...and I don't know how much of that some of us can take.
