Praying For Rain
Don't you just love it when you take an AMAZING 2-3 hour nap during the day and then you can't sleep that night? Yeah. I should have just fought it and stayed awake all day, knowing I have vb in the morning..but I couldn't. I was soo sleepy for some reason. So I took a nap. It was a GREAT nap...and now I'm laying here wide awake watching the time tick away dreading practice in the morning. This.Sucks. While I'm laying here I'm also praying that it STORMS tomorrow. All day. Because...instead of a fun overnight white water rafting trip, this years "fun" trip is a few hours at a red neck water park. I'm slightly disappointed and therefor not looking forward to it. Coach gave us today off from practice and in return we have to practice for a few hours in the morning before leaving for said "fun" trip...UNLESS it's raining. PLEASE GOD...send the rain. I'm dreading it for a few reasons...one I'm on medication that says all over the bottle to stay out of sunlight. Am I going to tell my coach this? NO. I'm not being known as the one who complains and whines about everything this year. No sir. So I will just wear my sunscreen and hat and fine somewhere to sit and watch everyone else fry. Two, I'm pretty sure everyone is going to be tired from practice and just ready to go home and shower and sleep, but instead we are going to be in the heat and have about 5 slides that are supposed to entertain us for hours. I just don't see that being fun. I know I sound very pessimistic right now, but I'm not looking forward to this one bit. I can think of so many other things I could do on a Saturday...even a rainy one. I could cuddle up with Drew and watch movies all day...clean my disaster of a room...read blogs! So again...please pray for rain in AL tomorrow. :/

Long Post.
It has been a few days since I have posted anything. I just haven't been inspired to do much of anything. Please say an extra prayer for me..I've been feeling really down and not like myself lately. I went to the doc and I should start feeling back to normal soon. :/ This post will probably be pretty long because I have lots on my mind.
I guess I'll start with volleyball, since it's consuming a lot of my time lately. It's going fairly well. I just don't know how the season is going to go. I HATE sitting the bench and that's all I did last year...well this year I have a chance to actually be on the floor....but I'm not sure how long that will last. I haven't been quite up to par with my volleyball skills ever since I started playing in college. I'm not sure what has changed the way I play. This is my last season, so whether I play or not I'm going to try and enjoy it. I'm going to try my hardest to be there for the people who are actually on the floor and I'll try my best when I do get a chance to play. Being a part of the team is a blessing all in it's own. I mean heck, it's paying for my college and we are constantly told how many girls there are that would kill to be in our places...soI think I need to work on not being so selfish. If I'm not the best person to have on the floor to win games then I need to be supportive of those who are. Sure, it's easy to just say these things..but I really want to accomplish that this year. No more dissing the people on the floor and tearing the team a part. It's time to grow up and be a true teammate.
My future hubby has been so good to me the past few days. He knows I'm not feeling the best so he has done so much for me to help me out. I'm so grateful that I have been blessed by someone who truly loves me and wants to make me happy. I couldn't ask for anyone better. He has brought me breakfast in bed ALL WEEK, cleaned my room (it was a wreck) while I was gone to practice this afternoon, and took me out to dinner and a movie after practice to try and get me out of this funk I'm in. It was so sweet to get out of practice and see a text that said, "Come home and shower as soon as you get out of practice. We are going out to eat and to a movie. I love you!" Makes me smile. :) We went to one of my favorite places in town, which is a Mexican place and then had time to kill before the movie started, so we decided to run to old navy and look around. I found a CUTE purse on clearance for $7 so he had no reason to say no to that. :) I haven't had a new purse in forever and we needed something to put our candy in that we were going to sneak into the movie. lol We saw Charlie St. Cloud. It was about a B- in my book. Overall I had a GREAT night and I think Wed night should be date night every week. :)
So...I have been rethinking the whole destination wedding thing. When I'm actually realistic about it, Drew and I aren't the dress up to go eat or the biggest social couple...so why would we go to a resort where both is pretty much are things you do while at a all exclusive resort? I'm thinking that a cute little room one beach house in Destin or somewhere similar would be perfect. We could go to the grocery store and get groceries for most of the week and go out some nights. We would get to cook meals together and wear whatever we wanted while we ate. We could go shopping and find things for our new apartment and it just over all seems like a totally better idea. I'm definitely going to look at beach houses ON the beach and see what I can find.
& one last little thing. I'm trying to think about optimistic stuff...so here are some things I'm looking forward to:
-COLD weather. I'm so tired of the hotness and sweat.
-for fall classes to begin. I'm ready to get another semester behind me.
-My bday! I'll no longer be a "teen". The big 2-0! :D
-Thanksgiving. Foooooood.
-Christmas...more Foooood. lol and family :)
-The new year. Once January gets here its time for full on planning. Down to every last detail. Our new home, what school we will go to, where we will get married, honeymoon, everything.
I hope everything is going great on everyone else's end. I really enjoy reading everyone's blogs and I'm always excited when I see a new post. I know my blog posts aren't really exciting or about anything anyone's interested in probably, but as time goes by maybe I'll get better at this whole thing. Good night!

Random Saturday Stuff
My mind is kinda everywhere today...so this post is a little random.
Its FINALLY Saturday. I made it through the first and worst week of volleyball. The heat + the unairconditioned gym was not a very pleasant atmosphere for physical activity. Everyone sweat like 3 gallons of sweat per day. Overall it was a pretty good week of practices up until yesterday. I'm sure it was because everyone had weekend fever and could barely focus on practice. We had to pay for it with running suicides...everyone picked it up after that though. We did our insanity video and she let us go home early because it was Friday. :) My Dad and his wife had left earlier yesterday and will be gone until Sunday, which left the house all to Drew and I. We piled every comfy thing we could find into the living room floor and made ourselves comfortable while we ate buffalo chicken fingers and cheese sticks from Papa Johns, filets that he grilled, and we each had our own little tub of ice cream (I had sherbet). If you couldn't tell last night was cheat night. We ate all this while watching Repo Men. It's a really good movie in my opinion. After the movie went off I pulled out the laptop and did some blogstalking reading while Drew watched Get Rich or Die Trying. I saw clips of it and it was alright I guess. I hadn't seen it before. We went to bed pretty late but we both slept really good. We both got up and got our showers and now Drew is fixing breakfast. :) Today is pretty much going to be a lazy/get stuff done around the house day...can it be both? I think so.
I am actually looking forward to cooler weather...which is a first for me. I usually would rather sweat than be cold any day but I'm getting pretty tired of sweating when I walk outside to get into my car. Ridiculous. I can't wait to wear
1) Salads & coke 0- I have pretty much eaten a salad at some point everyday this summer. my favorite is chicfila's side salad with their chicken nuggets, croutons, and ranch dressing. Top it off with a coke 0 and I would be happy with eating this meal for lunch everyday from now on. I'm sure this "summer fav" will continue on into "fall favs"

Summer favorites |
2) AE boyfriend fit shorts- They fit perfectly in the waist and are perfect length for comfort. I don't feel like my butt is hanging out, but I don't feel like a grandma. I have them in light and dark wash. I lived in them this summer.
3) Vera Bradley keychain wallet- I have started to dislike carrying a purse around everywhere I go. All I need when I go somewhere are my keys and money. Money goes in side, keychain loop attaches to my keys. That was easy. The fun patterns are just a plus.
4) Droid Eris- Drew and I opened up our own verizon account and got great deals any phone we wanted. After playing with several, we both really liked the Eris. It has everything you could ever need in a phone.
5) Travel-sized toiletries- They come in handy when you just need a quick shower after your workout at the gym. My favorite shampoo (the one pictured above) luckily comes in travel size and so does my favorite body wash. :)
6) Tevas, maybelline mascara, and black nailpolish- always a fav of mine.

Buffalo Chicken Salad
Drew has been making this for weeks, but I never tried it because up until now I didn't think I liked buffalo sauce...but OMG. It is DELICIOUS. He is making more as I type this because I wanted some for dinner on a muli-grain sandwich round. mmm :)
It's REALLY simple. All you need is:
1 1/2 tbsp of ranch
1 1/2 tbsp of buffalo sauce (we use Moore's)
1 tbsp of I can't believe it's not butter
about 1/2 lbs of chicken
1-Grill the chicken
2-Mix the other three ingredients
3-blend together into a chicken salad texture. (we use a magic bullet)

Volleyball Day 1
Here I am staring at the computer screen feeling like an 18-wheeler hit me and then threw it in reverse and ran over me. Today was so easy kicked.my.butt. It was day ONE of volleyball season. We had a pretty fun and intense practice. The only thing I can complain about are the half dollar sized blisters on BOTH heels. Our new shoes=ouch. After practice we headed to the aerobics room and did the physical test dvd of INSANITY. It was extremely hard...and we had wore our legs out at practice right before. It was not pretty. I wore our grey volleyball t-shirt from last year and about maybe 20 minutes into practice it had become a charcoal color and was ringing wet. DISGUSTING. I wasn't going to waste all of that hard work by eating like crap today, so I stuck to the diet my personal trainer had given me. I feel great and I know it will only get easier and I will only feel better as the days go by. I have to do it all over again in the morning. I better be seeing some results from this..even if it is just a few inches added to my vertical. :)
